Computer problem 2000 Suzuki Vitara 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic. I recently replaced the battery on my Girlfriend's Grand Vitara and 3 weeks after took it to for California State inspection and 3 of the emission monitors pull up as not ready. the catalyst ; the evap. ; and the O2 Sens. . we were told to drive it for 100 miles with the fuel tank from 1/2 to 3/4 full and they would reset. doing so we took it back after several hundred miles and the codes are still showing Not Ready ... how do we fix this problem ?

Search on google 2000 suzuki grand vitara drive cycle. This will reset all monitors unless there is a problem.

SOURCE: DRIVING SEQUENCE FOR 200O GRAND VITARA TO RESET COMPUTER

Hi:

We failed our emissions test as well, and went to the dealer to get the o2 sensor fixed. When I was paying the cashier told me that after such work, the car needs to drive for a while so the computer can confirm there are no problems, otherwise it sends out a code saying it's not ready to be checked. I was told 2 or three days.

SOURCE: 96 suzuki vitara - radiator empties but no visible leak

Check the passanger side floor board for moisture this could indicate a bad heater core. Then I would check the engine oil and make sure its not milky looking (head gasket). make sure when you fill it let it run with the cap open with you looking into the cap to be sure is circulating and not vapor locked (air pocket)
hope this helps

SOURCE: PO135 Error Code

Bank one stands for the same side as the number 1 cylinder. Sensor 1 is the first sensor in the bank, (closest to the engine or upstream).
In most cases you will find it on the drivers side\left hand side of the engine and above the catalytic converter. Look for it on the lower portion of the exhaust manifold.

SOURCE: HERE'S A PROBLEM, SUZUKI GRAND VITARA 2006 WITH A

Here is a site that should help. If I could hook my scanner up I could tell you in minutes if the O2 sensor was working by watching the data stream. the code means you are running lean on the #2 side. This can be caused by a vacuum leak or even a bad sensor. It has to be diagnosed. Read more in this site:

1991 vitara front wheel bearing/hub assmby diagram

91 Grand Vitara? They don't show one till '99 just the Sidekick and the Sameri The 99 shows a bearing the the hub presses into. 262071994.jpgThis bearing is the one for the front in a four wheel drive. You did'nt say if your four wheel or not either. This bearing costs 20 bucks at my parts store. This is not the right baring for a two wheel drive as I did'nt think you'd be asking if it was ywo wheel drive. the difference between a 91 and a 99 arn't likly as this information is for vehicals sold in the USA.
