There are two locations for fuse boxes on a 2005 Cobalt. 1) is under the hood, on the driver's side, under the jump start contact. 2) is inside the center console, on the right side. The forward part of the console kick panel has a press-opening panel, which, when removed, reveals the fuse box.
No fuse? Or no slots? If 53 has little metal terminals inside the slots to accept a fuse, then fuse it! Someone pulled it out and put it into 52. If there was a previous owner who blew his heated seat fuse, maybe he traded his back-up lights for a cozy heated seat! If, however, #53 has nothing there, like just an empty place of the fuse box-not wired, then indeed, strange. Is that the owner's manual you referred to? That should be accurate, if it's the owner's manual. Look closely at that #53 Good luck..
its under the passengers side center right by the left leg pull that panel off and there are those fuses there is a diagram on the back which tells you which fuses go to what
It is a Fuse. Make sure and look in your Owners Manual to find ALL the places there are Fuse Boxes. Should be one Under the Hood and One inside the Car.
