Sir ,I own vitz 2009 ...I m facing a unique problem.car losses accelerator at bumps and shifts automatically into neutral with no response from pedal but engine keeps on running.. problem solves once I switch off n restart car ...I have changed the gear oil , accelerator pedal ,throttle body ,cleaning of cat convertor..plus no code ...plz guide me as I m now thinking to sell the car due to this issue . regards

I think you will find the aftermarket Cat Conv. is the source of your problem, but without hooking up to the factory test equipment at my disposal at my Ford dealer this at best and educated guess based on 20 years of emission related work, I am a Ford certified master electronics technician

SOURCE: Issue with throttle control on my 2003 Maxima

I discovered that its the throttle body sensor. Its not sensing the postion of the foot pedal. The throttle body has a sensor that is linked to your gas pedal via a cable. The spring that the repair man mentioned could be the issue. The sensor then communicates to the computer the position and then computer then applies fuel, the mass air sensor then will communicate to the computer and the computer will then allow more or less air to fuel ratio. So if your stomping on the gas and there is not any response, then your throttle body sensor is most likely going out.

Has anyone change the transmission fluid and used anything other than Honda ATF-Z1. If so, have the fluid/filter changed in this car and use only Honda Fluid. This is the only fluid that you can use in a Honda. Even if you have used the correct fluid an fluid/filter change may help. If that is not the case then I suggest you seek out a trusted professional.

Another place to look is your IAC, or Idle air control valve. It is bolted to the back of the intake manifold, and can be removed and cleaned. It is usually the cause of most Honda Idle problems.

Accelerator pedal position sensor

The ECM memory should have been reset due to which it picks up the code P1589 and the calibration of the accelerator pedal has been erased. Use a scan tool and calibrate deceleration sensor.
You can do the calibration by clicking Engine and ECT > > special function > > and then click "deceleration 0 point calibration" while you do that make sure that your car IGN switch is "ON" and your gear shift is on "P
Some automatic transmission DTCs cause the MIL to come on. If the MIL is on and no DTCs are indicated in the EFI system, select the A/T system, and check for automatic transmission DTCs.

09 impala accelerator pedal sensor?

the pedal sensor is part of the gas peda assembly. The whole thing needs to be replaced if there is a problem with the sensor.
