In order to replace the blender door actuator on that vehicle you have to drop the entire dash, it,s a pretty big job so make sure you take photos or label things as needed. also make sure you get the correct actuator, although they look the same there is a difference between the automatic temp control and the manual (hot cold knob) if you have the knob it will usually say MAN on the side of the actuator. it should be on the driver side of the heater box in the center of the dash.

SOURCE: how to replace blend door actuator in a ford

I recently did mine, I hear you can do it without taking the entire dash apart but I had no luck with it myself. I have to get ready for work but, on mine it was located down and to the left of the radio. its a white box...are you hearing a clicking noise or something? I had to roll the entire dash back and it was still a major pain getting it out.

SOURCE: location of blend door or

The temperature door actuator is located at the bottom of the heater housing at the center terminal. It looks like this:

To remove the actuator

  1. Remove the left and right underpanel silencer ducts.
  2. Remove the two retaining screws from the actuator which are accessible from the right side of the center stack.
  3. Remove the screw from the actuator on the left side.
  4. Pull the actuator straight down from the shaft and disconnect the electrical wire. Upon removal, matchmark the shaft position of the actuator, because the shaft on this motor is keyed.

Heater stopped working. Got the car use about a month ago and it worked fine up till now.

Have the heater temperature control blend door actuator checked, that is the usual problem, the actuator moves the air temperature control door that moves back and forth to supply hot and cold air or a blend of the two air streams from the heater core and the AC evaporator core, I have changed out about a dozen of them for this problem of no heat, the actuator is located behind the glove box to the left on the air duct, it has a small electrical connector going to it, very hard to get at.
