SOURCE: my car BMW 318i 2000

Is the water tank the windshield washer fluid or the radiator overflow tank??

If it is the washer fluid tank, fill it with "below 32F" type fluid. If it is the radiator over flow tank, it would appear to me that the radiator fluid is too watered down or weak and is not freeze resistant. The radiator fluid should be 50/50 mix of Prestone or other make of radiator fluid and water. This is to save your engine and radiator from bursting. Ice takes up move volume that water (this is why Ice floats on water). Inside of a pipe, radiator or engine block, this can be devisating. You could crack your radiator or engine block. Hopefully who ever serviced your car last used the correct fluid. You might want to get this checked before more damage happens to your car.

Hope this helps.

Why would it burst a pipe after getting new water pump fitted?

water pipes burst from 2 reasons
one is that they are too old and have cracked the binding inside the rubber
two is excessive pressure from a head gasket/cracked head problem
if the hoses are larger than the clamp, they will burst
if they have been removed incorrectly the fabric in the rubber gets torn and they will burst
if the pump was fitted incorrectly , then high pressure from overheating will make them burst

There is water leaking and the car is running hot it will not hold water

It's normal for condensed water to come out the exhaust pipe, but if gas is coming out, you have a serious fuel-line problem.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starter relay location for 1999her Lexus ES300

Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section. Remove or disconnect the following:
Drain engine coolant
V-bank cover
Accelerator cable
Intake air connector
Throttle Body
Upper and lower intake manifold assembly
Rear water bypass joint
Water bypass pipe
Water bypass pipe from the water pump
Wire clamp from the bracket on the water bypass pipe
O-ring from the water bypass pipe
Water bypass pipe bracket from the water bypass pipe
2 bolts holding the starter to the cylinder block
Starter connector
Starter from the cylinder block
Nut, and disconnect the starter wire
Starter

Replacing a starter on 1999 Lexus ES300 was not all that hard. You had metric socket and combination wrenches and a phillip's screw driver. In this video show you how uninstalled the starter and then replaced it in pretty good detail. This starter is used in 1998 to 2001, and so basically you could use the same procedure that is shown there.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

The upper radiator hose burst, i replace that now it wont cycle coolant threw the block and heater wont work could it be the thermostat

Could be or it could be the water pump which i think is more than likely which is why the hose burst ,the water pump has a plastic impeller and this is driven by a metal shaft and they do come loose on the metal drive shaft ,result the problems you describe

I need t obleed the coolant system on 1996 V6 passat. Lost water due to burst pipe.

Look for Schrader valve/valves on the upper part of the engine. They will look like a tire valve. With the engine running at full temperature press these to bleed the system by removing the cap on th valve and pressing the valve in. When you see no more air escaping you are done. If you find no Schrader valves then remove the radiator cap, engine cold, and start the engine. Make sure the radiator is totally full. Start the engine and watch for air bubbles escaping from the system and keep it full at all times. Once you see no more air bubbles escaping put the cap back on.

Hi. Normally if the pipes or hoses are too old, it's normal to get burst especially if your car is lack of Service Maintenance. Another thing is if the engine is overheating and the expansion tank cap is faulty (stuck Close), the weakest parts of cooling system will burst.
When you replaced the damage parts I suggest you to replace Thermostat Valves as will. Also I would suggest after the repair to do Cooling System Pressure Test encloding Expansion Tank Cap pressure test, Bleed cooling system properly, Monitor Coolingling Fan and Engine Temperature Operation.
I hope this tip will help you to solve your problem and if it's still existing I hope you don't mind to inform me and I'll try my best to help you as much as I can.
Thanks and good luck
