You'll need a scan tool that can read transmission codes. That will get you started once you retrieve the code.

SOURCE: f150 transmission neutralizes when shifts to overdrive

I have that exact same truck and transmission and My Transmission did the exact same thing about a year ago and there was some kind of snap ring inside the transmission that broke. I originally thought it had to be an electirical problem because the truck shifted fine until OD or if i turned OD off. The 4r70w is a light transmission and i would suggest you have a shift kit put in and they make a heavier kit to beef it up.. Sorry its probably not the new you were looking for.

SOURCE: ford f150 overdrive light flashes

This usually means there is a transmission related fault. There is probably a error code stored, and your transmission may be in limp mode; usually 2nd gear only. I don't know if Autozone can read trans codes. This may be a dealer only repair. Have you checked your transmission fluid?

On 2001 Ford f150 is there a fuse that can go bad.Why I am asking light overdrive light is flashing it started after was checking fuses

That's usually a sign of a trouble code being present in the Transmission Control Module Take it to a pars store or anyone with a quality obd2 diagnostic scanner. Call Auto Zone & Local Parts Store's first to make sure their scanner can read transmission codes before making the trip. Think of this as the same as your check engine light coming on, it's just the transmission instead. That doesn't mean it's anything bad or especially hard or expensive. The scanner will tell you what's going on! Best of Luck!

2004 f150 transmission fault light

Sounds like the transmission got overheated. I would not worry if shutting it off and restarting got rid of the fault.

Enjoy your vacation.

Overdrive light on shifter is flashing and

There is another recall on the cruise control. The first added a fuse. This new recall is about wiring and lighting problems caused by the cruise. Everything from not shifting out of Park to no brake lights to false dash indicators. Best to contact the dealer, if it is a recall its free.
