If it started before you changed it, now it doesn't go back to the battery connections and remove terminal connections srcape both surfaces cable and battery or use baking soda & vinegar let fizz then scrape.

first thing check make sure battery 12.6 volts and battery cables clean free from corrossion. if battery cables old as vechicle bad ground cable or positive cable prevent vechicle from starting.if all is good remove check starter and starter solenoid.if both okay problem either faulty ignition switch or the inhibitor switch to keep vechicle from starting in gear.
Depends on your definition of completely dead. Do the lights work, but no crank ? Can you jump start the car ? A mechanic would check for voltage at the battery, the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch, along with the ground connections to the engine.
It sound like a bad battery. Did you try jump starting the car? If it starts then the battery is most likely bad. If it is the original it should be replaced.
Sounds like a battery problem. Make sure that all your lights are off inside the car. Check your visor light too. Ive seen broken visors that wont turn the bulb off when shut and drain the battery over night.
Get your battery tested also to make sure it can hold the cranking amps needed for starting.
Check and make sure that the brake lights are working. It may be the brake light switch.There is a possibility that there are two separate issues though. You can have a bad ignition switch also.After starting the car move the key slowly towards the off position or wiggle the key and see if the abs/tracs light goes off.
If it wouldn't start, you have to see if you are missing fuel or fire. Could be a bad sensor, or a bad fuel pump, or if the security light is blinking, a problem with the security system.
