Replaced driver side blend door actuator on driver side on 97 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme have been told there's one on the passenger side does anyone know where it is left side blowing cold right side blowing hot had the opposite problem in April replaced driver side door actuator fix the problem then now no heat on driver side but have heat on passenger side

The thermostat adjustment control may need to be replaced. Also check the hose on the back for cracks, clogs, or missing.

Actuator motors either get a tear in the rubber or a hose is broken and not letting vacuum assist in its opening.
You can try moving the lever by hand and see if the air gets colder on the bad side.

you cannot repair the actuator you need to replace it with new one. These motors turn but get weak with time. if you test it, it works, put it in and it doesn't. this is because the motor is weak, unfortunately GM does not sell these motors separately.

I have had this problem. I am not a mechanic...so to correct the issue temporarily, I simply turn off the car and restart. This has worked everytime for me. In extreme cases, I think you can also remove the AC fuse and start the car, which will also reset the computer. I also think that by taking the climate control off the "AUTO" setting has worked in the past.

If you've replaced the actuators and they are working.
One of the blend doors may be broken inside the heater box. To repair or replace the broken door you
have to remove the heater box. This is not a small job. The book gives 6-7 hours for the job. There is a
cheat that I've heard good things about. I guess it can
be done in a fraction of the time. You can find out
about it at heatertreater.net I have not used it myself
but I know somone who has. And it worked well for
him. Hope this helps.
