SOURCE: Rough idle after check engine code cleared

I would check for any vaccum leaks,
You can take a spray bottle of water and spray around the intake manifold with the car running at idle.
The idle will change and get worst if the intake is leaking.
The intake gaskets could be the failure. I know autozone can get into the computer and clear the codes for free.

good luck

Intake air temperature sensor faulty. Depending on what engine, may be in side of air cleaner or air intake hose , or may be part of the MAF (mass airflow ) sensor. You can try cleaning MAF with tuner cleaner from radio shack or TV repair place.

03 Nissan Altima showing codes P0304,P0102,P0154,P0113 what are they and how do i repair the problems.

Hi Chris.

p0304 = Number 4 Cylinder Misfire Detected

Faulty spark plug 4
Clogged or faulty fuel injector 4
Faulty ignition coil 4
Fuel injector 4 harness is open or shorted
Fuel injector 4 circuit poor electrical connection
Ignition coil 4 harness is open or shorted
Ignition coil 4 circuit poor electrical connection
Insufficient cylinder 4 compression
Incorrect fuel pressure
Intake air leak

The P0304 code means that the cylinder 4 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 4.

p0102 = Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input

Faulty mass air flow sensor
Intake air leaks
Dirty mass air flow sensor
Dirty mass air filter
Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection

Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner.
Reset code and drive vehicle.
If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.

p0154 = O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected Sensor 1 Bank 2

Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2
Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 harness is open or shorted
Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 circuit poor electrical connection
Inappropriate fuel pressure
Faulty fuel injectors
Intake air leaks may be faulty
Exhaust gas leaks

Replacing the Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 usually takes care of the problem.

p0113 = Intake Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High

Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
Dirty air filter
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness is open or shorted
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit poor electrical connection

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is built into mass air flow sensor or in some vehicles mounted to the air filter duct housing. The sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM).The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. Electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases in response to the temperature rise. The Intake Air Temperature signal is used as an input for various systems in the vehicle.

Hope this helps

Replaced the MAF. Still have the P0113 code. Car runs fine. Cannot find another intake air temperature sensor anywhere on the vehicle! Where is it?

code p0113 does not refer to a MAF sensor so replacing that was a waste of money=== It refers to intake air temperature (IAT) sensor---circuit malfunction====causes --wiring open circuit/short circuit to positive--wiring short circuit to ground---ground wire defective---IAT sensor---ECM.
Replace the IAT and check the wiring is in good condition and the connectors are clean and tight.

Where is the iat sensor on a 99 ford e-150 v6

58b11059-37fe-49ca-8e95-10fc6196b128.jpg
The IAT (Intake Air Temperature) switch is located on the air intake hose that runs from the air intake box, to the fuel injection system. It is easy to spot, there will be a wired connector on the air intake hose. Disconnect it, and then simply pull the IAT out. When replacing, make sure that the rubber grommet that seals the IAT in the air intake hose, is sealed all the way around.

I hope that you have found this information to be useful, and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Thank you for using fixya!

P0113 code for the intake air temperature sensor

Thank you for the inquiry.
P0113
Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
P0114 Intake Air Temperature Circuit
P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input

The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the temperature of the air entering the engine. The PCM supplies a 5 volt reference voltage to the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor. The IAT is a thermistor that varies resistance based on temperature. As the temperature increases, resistance decreases. Low temperature results in a high signal voltage. When the PCM sees a signal voltage higher than 5 volts, it sets this P0113 check engine light code.

Potential Symptoms: There will likely be no symptoms other than illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL - Check Engine Light / Service Engine Soon).
Causes: A code P0113 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Internally failed IAT sensor
* Faulty connection at IAT sensor
* Open in IAT ground circuit or signal circuit
* Short to voltage in IAT signal circuit or reference circuit
* IAT harness and/or wiring routed too close to high-voltage wiring (e.g. alternator, spark plug cables, etc.)
* Faulty PCM (less likely but not impossible)

Possible Solutions:
1. First, if you have access to a scan tool, is there an IAT reading? If the IAT reading is logical then the problem is likely intermittent. If the reading is less than -30 degrees, unplug the connector. Install a jumper wire between the harness connector signal and ground circuits. The IAT temperature reading on the scan tool should be maxed out at the high end. For example it should be 280 degrees Farenheit or higher. If it is, the wiring is okay, and it may have been the connection. 2. If it isn't install the jumper wire between the IAT signal circuit and the chassis ground.
3. If now the IAT reading on the scan tool is maxed out then check for an open in the IAT ground circuit. If you get no reading at all on the scan tool, it's likely that the sensor signal is open or the 5 volt reference is missing. Check using a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) for a 5 volt reference. If it's there, then unplug the connector at the PCM and check for continuity on the IAT signal circuit between the PCM connector and the IAT connector.

Took my focus 2003 to autozone it is going thru alot of gas and we changed the spark plugs they ran a test and the codes are po113 & po303 i do not know what this means can you help me

P0113 indicates the IAT Intake Temperature Sensor has a problem.
P0303 indicates a misfire on cylinder 3

I believe the IAT is built into the MAF sensor located in the air snorkle and helps regulate the air/fuel mixture. Also concentrate on cylinder 3 looking for problems such as injector, wiring, etc.

Hope this helps!

code p0113 means: IAT sensor high temp

and the solution:
The Intake air temp sensor is located inside the air flow meter and uses yellow and black wire and the black wire. IAT sensor circuit code P0113 indicating excessively high voltage or (Open Circuit) the ECM is either not seeing the correct voltages at terminals 66 and 80 under the dash at the ecm. It could be as simple as a broken wire under the insulation right at the air flow meter, Or a little worse a bad air flow meter. There are cheeper remanufactured Aair flow meters available at Nissan for your car around $150 instead of $400 like they used to be new.
