hey, im a usa sailor and i have also encountered this problem. how i fixed it.....,
you may be missing a little rod that attatches the handle from the cab to the crankcase. if you have that rod then see if the holes in the levers under the truck have little rubber grommets. these are what holds the rods in place.
if missing :
the rod......contact your nearest auto parts store preferably napa or autozone usually runs about thirty bucks at most
the rubber grommets.......usually any hardware store will have these for only four bucks

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
The fault can be caused by a faulty transmission solenoid so you need to have it checked and replaced if necessary. But before proceeding to the replacement, please remove the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This should reset the system and can resolve the problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Basically the short version is the there is no communication to your computer. I would start by check the fuse I have marked in the fuse layout diagram above. This is the fuse panel you can only access if you open the drivers door and it is on the side of the dash. Not sure if you are in a no start condition or if you are just trying to pull trouble codes. This fuse would apply to if you are pulling codes. because that is the fuse to supply power to the data link connector where you plug in. If you are in a no start condition of course it still means no communication to the computer but there is much more testing then just a fuse but I'm going with pulling of codes because you didn't mention anything. These Durango's have a computer (PCM) that when they built them they put a computer chip on top of another computer chip on the circuit board. The bottom one gets hot and cracks. Not saying that's the problem as I'm not sure of your problem other than "No BUS". Just letting you know my experience with them and trying to cover as much as I can with what information you have given. If you have been trying to pull codes and did get one at one point and the code was a P0601, 602 or 603 then it is the PCM. These are VERY hard to find. The ones I've come across that are bad, I have ended up shipping the PCM to a company in Florida here and they rebuild them and ship it back to you. If you are in need of further information or can be more detailed as to what the problem/symptom is, you can reply back here or feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. Hope I was able to help with your question
That wil lbe your problem, it is either a piece of the drive gear or a piece of the drive rack.
