I have a 2009 Saturn Aura xe 2.4l 4 cyl and the esc, traction, abs and brake lights are lit on the dash... also error codes off P0449. & P2101 are present. The car shifts through all the gears but will not go into any gear. Help, is it the solenoid inside the tranny or the tranny control module or the whole blooming transmission?

Oh?!?!! You really think so? I am elated another source said it sounded like the sprag, and at that point I would question the whole tranny. I am about to buy the throttle position sensor and give it a whirl.... there is transmission fluid every where under the car, obviously the transmission is leaking so I will pick up a new gasket and replace it also.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

You didn't mention the leak. This is more serious. Fill the transmission to see if it will shift. There is no gasket to replace. Transmission leaks are expensive to repair. See what it's going to cost to fix the transmission before you bother with the throttle code.

The transmission is and has always remained full. Every time I drove it when I stopped I would replace the fluid. So, at this point you do not think the car is in limp mode but that the tranny is bad?

See the problem is that there's is not a throttle position sensor, that the whole throttle body would be replaced on my car. Just having the trouble understanding how these are the answers but going to pick up a used tranny this week.

Yes. The throttle position sensor is part of the throttle control. There is definitely something wrong there, but it could just be the wiring. The reason I worry about a leak, is I don't know how low the fluid level may have gone. A transmission expert can usually tell by the smell if a tranny is bad. I would make sure before getting another one. Could you get a used throttle at the same place? There may be a test procedure for checking the throttle control using an ohmmeter. You can also test the throttle position sensor using a scanner. You set the scanner to data mode and add throttle position to the display. Start the engine and push the pedal to see if the throttle is showing angles as you push.

The problem is most likely the throttle control/position sensor, if you really have a P2101. The computer cannot control the throttle, so it has disabled the transmission for safety reasons.

It's in limp home mode. You'll have to check wire connections and electronic controls. If it has a vacuum modulator you can remove it and look for trans fluid on the vacuum hose side (meaning ruptured diaphram). Double check the parts you replaced as well, especially if they were used parts. My dad went through three speed sensors in one year on his Caravan. You should drop the pan after checking other components. It could be a bad relay, shorted module or wire. The three speed transmissions are much more reliable than the four speed overdrive transmissions but with age and miles things can go wrong and parts will wear out.

SOURCE: 5 speed manual transmission really hard to shift/change gears

The transmition is not the problem. The cables that run from the shifter to the transmition are the culpret. I recently rescued my wife from the road when the linkage broke on our VUE. I purchased new connectors and cables from the dealership and replaced them. For those that have the proper knowledge and skill set, you can replace them yourself. Others are better off having it done at a shop. The following is my personal experience and is not meant to be a guide, repair manual or procedure for those who lack formal automotive repair training! The new shifter cables come as a set. The cable with the white housing does not seem to be a problem. The cable with the black housing controls the push forward-pull back and the cable with the white housing controls the side to side movement. I found that the new cable with the black housing had the same sort of stiffness when I pushed and pulled the cable by hand. Then I noticed that the cable end was bent, causing it to bind in the housing. I straightened the end by bending it with my hands untill I felt the least amount of binding or resistance when pushing and pulling it. When I installed it the difference was amazing! I kept the old cable set for emergencies. The only tools you need to replace the cables and couplings are a 7mm socket on a screwdriver handle, a phillips head screwdriver and a pair of needle nose plyers. Remove the center console, (4, 7mm screws) and electrical connections. Then remove the plastic panels around the shifter, (7, phillips head screws and 2 plastic push pins) associated snap together panel fasteners and electrical connections. Pop each cable end off it's shifter joint/ball and push the collar back on each cable housing anchor. Pull the carpet back and push the rubber grommet through the firewall in the passenger footwell. Then pop the cable ends off at the transmition. Pull the old cable set out and reverse the procedure to install the new cables. There is an adjustment of the cable length. This should be done before replacing the plastic panels and center console. The new cable ends that attach to the shifter can be positioned/adjusted. Looking at the old cable pair you will see where the old clips were positioned and can start with that. Then run the shifter through all the gears to make sure they all engage. If you run out of travel on the shifter handle re-position the clips on the cable ends, as needed, to get full gear engagement without running out of travel.

SOURCE: transmission doesnt shift abs & brake light on speedometer doesnt work

I had the same problem with ABS light and speedometer, I was told that it is the transmission control module. It has not yet stopped shifting but I have had times where it just wont stay running. It will start and then stall. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Error code P0755, Shift Solenoid B Malfunction

go with the new solenoid, in order to change it the trans pan has to come off so install a new filter at that time.

Why does my car keep dying after I replaced starter, alternator, & battery?

No DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored in any computer on the vehicle? Full vehicle scan. Is the security light lit also?

With these lights - brake light, traction light, abs light, & battery light coming on codes would have to be stored in one of the vehicles computers. I would almost bet a U code was stored in one of the modules. U codes are communication network problem codes.

You might want to find a different repair shop.

I own a 2009 SATURN AURA. Warning light shows "Service traction" as well as "service ESC". Is this serious ? I f so what do I do ?

ESC is what some manufacturers call ESP.

The traction control system uses the wheel speed sensors of the ABS (antilock brake) system but instead of releasing the brake of a wheel that is locking, uses a different programme to apply the brake of a wheel spinning under acceleration. I believe the ESC system is similar in principle but a more refined programme to increase vehicle stability.

Servicing the system is a specialist task requiring access to some sophisticated electronic equipment and somewhere in the process there should be an experienced thorough visual inspection of all the external components.

Hey I’m in need of help about my 2009 saturn aura with the esc service traction control

The most common cause of the warning lights coming on is debris on the magnetic ring on the wheel speed sensor.

I have a Saturn Aura 2009 service traction warning -- my car just flipped 100,000 miles. Is this a huge safety issue

It can be a abs sensor causing the problem,if so,it will convert to regular brake system. It also can be a brake problem,,worn out brake pad.

You may have a bcm problem? The bcm controls both the brakes and turn signals. Any applicable trouble codes? Click on the link, part of wiring for brake lamps, you can check the fuse and relay. Also, check the fuse circuit for voltage, use a test light.

How do i fix error code u0100 on my 2009 saturn aura xe?

That sounds an awful lot like the ECM is having trouble. Since the model year is nearly 7 years old, it is possible that the ECM is toast or that a wire or two has a corroded connection. Have a look at this information: http://engine-codes.com/u0100_saturn.html

Hope this helps.

CK codes c0131 ABS/TCS system pressure circuit malfunction. Their is a Technical Service Bulletin out for this that is being addressed by chevy so you may want to get in touch with them.
