The radio works just fine but all of a sudden the cds wont play. I think its still spinning the cd but the screen reads (err). any ideas how to fix this besides replacing the radio. for example maybe buying a cd player cleaner for it?

Sounds like the ejector has become jammed, probably from repeatd failed attempts to eject the stuck cd's.
There isn't much you can do about it, repair on that unit will probably cost more than a better aftermarket replacement
usually a blown fuse will shutdown your radio until u get a new fuse so im not thinking fuse.... is the laser that reads cds is that clean???? if unsure they make cds with brushes on the bottom of them and as u put them in it brushes off that laser as the cd with brushes spins. or even simpler just try blowing out the inside maybe its just dirty or a cheap radio. cheap radios cause a lot of problems.... hope i helped....... My CD Player did the same. It showed an "ERR" message when trying to detect the beginning of a CD. I thought that the CD was dirty and wiped it down. Then I discovered that the player would detect the CD when the car was idle, but not when the car was in motion. Maybe the laser is THAT sensitive. Hope this works for you.
its a very common problem with g35 in dash clarion cd changer head units. a small plastic gear gets worn or brakes and wont eject or change cds. you need a new one, should be covered under your warranty.
some factory radios wont play burnt cds,dont know if thats the case?but i not the case the optcal lens in side the radio is bad got one id sell you out of a 05 ha ha.
this generally means the laser is either dirty or the cd player is shot, err 01 is a disc reading problem. Try cleaning lens with cleaning disc first if this does not help i would replace the unit with another. i would recommend replacing it with a cheap aftermarket stereo.
