Where is the blower motor resistor located on a 1996 GMC 1500 2WD and how do you get at it?

It is located on top of the heater box in the passenger side remove the glove box to gain acess there are two 7mm srews and a relay braket holding it in place it is a tight squeeze but can be removed with a 1/4 inch ratchet.

How doi locate the resistor for a blower motor on a 1997 gmc sierra 1500

Hi!!
Check under dash, passenger side, if necessary, remove cover to access Blower Housing Assy., the harness has two terminals, one for the Blower Motor and one for the Blower Motor RESISTOR which is fastened by two 7 or 8 mm. screws to the Housing.
Here is a picture of the Blower Housing Assy. showing the Resistor.

2004 gmc sierra 1500 blower motor location

The blower motor is on the passengers side under the dash.You might have to remove the a lower panel.This is the insulator panel.If the blower works at all just turn it on and follow the noise.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra with the electric dual climate controll and the fan motor stoped working this morning. I have power going all the way to the blower motor and the blower motor works when I put 12...

very common, ive done many. replace the blower motor resistor module, located next to blower motor and also plugs into blower, follow the wire from blower to resistor, heres apicture to help, napa auto parts sells this part,its about $50.00.hope this is helpful.ddd256e.jpg

Location of blower relay on 1997 c1500 gmc

if it works only on high speed you need a blower motor resistor you will find it close to the blower motor has three wire to it and looks like a small 1 inch by 3 inch piece of computer board material with two screws holding it.once you get it off you will find that one of the springs has lost contact.

There is an updated resistor/connector package. Very expensive from GM, try your local NAPA or other parts supplier for a replacement

Heater not working

The problem is probably the blower motor resistor. I'm not sure where yours is located exactly. They can be on the firewall under the hood or some are near the blower motor under the dash.
