SOURCE: smell antifreeze, no leaks, gurgleing behind drivers side dash.

there is air in system causing gurgling/set heater to defrost and check for sweet smell. do while stopped if core is leaking windshield will fog up and be hard to clear.

SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango heater core

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

SOURCE: Male fitting on heater core inlet broke off in hose

RKmastertech is incorrect. That plastic fitting is seperate from the aluminum heater core and can be removed by means of a special quick disconnect tool, like OTC 6046. Rock auto has the fitting for $5 plus shipping, just for a reference.

2000 Dodge Durango. Last night while driving home. I noticed white smoke coming from my vents, this caused the windows to cloud up the defroster did not clear the windows.

it sounds like your haeter core has sprung a leak. you can by-pass it by removing your heater hoses and conecting them together with a splice pipe till you can replace the heater core, but you will need to do so the by pass or heater core replacement soon or your car will start to overheat.

My 2000 dodge durango heater core is going bad... Does any one know how to replace it. Could i possibly do it my self? please someone share some tips and pointers...

Your heater core is mounted under the dash inside your climate control center. No offense but if you dont know how to get to it then you probably wouldnt want to deal with all the hassle it is to replace. They arent fun the first time around.

Heater core leak hoe do I fix

You will have to remove console, and all the venting and cover to heater core. Then go underneath the vehicle and disconnect both coolant hoses. Then remove heater core. You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual for your durango with everything you could need.

Textbook bad heater core symptom. Might be a blown/leaking heater hose....but I doubt it. My monies are on a bad heater core.
