Where do you add clutch fluid on a 97 Saab 900 SE?
The pedal dropped to the floor yesterday after I started my car. When putting the car into first gear, a loud thump/thud sound was made and the clutch dropped to the floor

There is a small tank to put fluid in should be on the firewall if the pedal went to the floor the line broke or the slave cylinder for the clutch went bad

If the master cylinder is bad, the pedal will sink under constant pressure. When the booster fails, it usually leaks vacuum and you can hear it. Do you have either of these symptoms? If not, check to make sure your booster is getting vacuum from the intake manifold. It should let off a bunch of vacuum when you pull the hose out of it.
clutch hydraulic system has failed
low fluid levels , air in system, problem clutch master cylinder will cause the indicated problems
take it to a clutch/brake specialist shop and get a proper diagnosis and quote
It's possible your clutch fork broke. Also, check to see if it's a hydraulic clutch. You could have a leak in the hydraulic system. Both would cause your clutch pedal to go to the floor.
Check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder What you describe is that you cannot disengage the clutch when you step on the pedal. This occurs if you are low on fluid or the clutch release bearing has collapsed. If the bearing is bad, it should have made noises before this. Let me know. I will check back. Moe
the 900 uses the same reservoir for both brake and clutch; it's in front of the firewall on the side of the pedals, immediately visible when you open the hood. Milky plastic, with a screw top; max and min levels marked by lines.
clutch leaks can be at the slave cylinder in the clutch, which will likely cause slipping clutch; at the master cylinder, which may show as fluid inside the car; or in line between them (runs from master cylinder at firewall to front of engine, where the clutch is located).
Look for leaks on ground and relate to location above leak in engine bay
