07 Equanox was making a winning noise lost lost engine power when u turn the key it sounds like the starter is constantly spinning all electronics work

The chip in the key is part of the anti-theft system and immobilizer. Did the vehicle start after the fuel pump was changed? It is normal to disconnect the battery when removing fuel pump, and after a battery disconnect, the anti-theft system need to be reset.

1. Insert the key into the driver's side door lock.
2. Turn the key once, but not all the way to unlock the door. Leave the key in this position for 40-60 seconds. ...
3. Do this again, but turn the key in the opposite direction.
4. Remove the key from the door, get into your Ford, and start the engine. The system should be reset.

It sounds like you might have a couple issues. Did the vehicle stall and then not start? Are there any codes stored related to reduced engine power?
But the starter could be bad and not actually engaging the flywheel, causing a whirring noise.
Or... Hopefully not this scenario.... the timing chain could be bad. An easy way to check is looking through oil fill cap to see if you can watch the camshaft spin/turn over.
Can you remove oil fill cap and see the camshaft? Or is there a baffle in the way?

Was it the main engine wiring harness or just a pigtail ? If it was the main engine harness, why was it changed?

Does it have spark ? Pull a plug wire while someone tries to start it . Or better yet ,spray carbuerator cleaner into the engine ,through the throttle plate an see if it tries to start . I'am assuming the starter spins the engine when you turn the key to the start position .

Not necessarily , without testing i would be just guessing . Could be a lose connection , ground circuit problem . Won't start sometimes ? Could you give a little more info on this ! Won't start how ? When you turn the key to start nothing happens , starter doesn't spin the engine or it does an the vehicle won't start an run . 07 chevy what ? model , engine size ? The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module , the BCM defines what mode to put the vehicle in . Start mode sends a class 2 message over serial data bus to the PCM /ECM which will energize the starter / crank relay . There are very complex electronics involved here . Have you had it to the Dealer ?

What noise does it make? That engine has a belt for timing and if it was never changed, it may have broken and it is a major issue. When you try and start it, if the engine just sounds like it is spinning then the belt is most likely the issue.

Is the engine turning over with the key in the start position? If the engine is not spinning over and you hear a whining noise, the starter is not engaging the flywheel. If the engine is turning over with the starter engaged, the engine has most likely jumped time that creates low or no compression which results in the whining noise.

The high pitched spinning sound you hear is the starter bendex trying to engage the flywheel. The starter may check out ok, but the bendex is turning but coming out. The starter will need replaced.

sounds like a defective bendix at starter drive!
