Yeah, don't drive so fast!!!!...seriously i would do what has to be done anyway to start. change fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires. these have to be done at some point if they haven't been.. if that solves your problem, if not look at fuel pump, injectors.u didn't say if it used to go faster, maybe there is a limiter.

Mine does the same. Changed rear fuel pump and filter. Generic parts from ebay cost about £50. It helped a lot but still not 100%. Next job will be the Turbo boost solenoid. Part costs about £35 from ebay. It's an east fit but a bit awkward. It can be done from under the drivers side wheel arch. Think I'll clean the exhaust side of the turbo too.

My freelander td4 management light comes on at 75mph and goes off when i drop to 70mph

use a scanner to find out the fault is given. Probably you will face a simple problem like the air filter is blogged or the automatic transmission is overheating.

I have a 2002 freelander TD4 and we think the clutch has gone when u push the clutch pedal down it just stays there and wont come back up does this sound like the clutch has gone?

Sounds like a clutch control problem. Did you check the fluid in the clutch master? If you get a leak and run out of fluid this will also do this. This vehicle uses DOT 4 brake fluid in the master.

My td4 freelander 2001. wont accelerate when i try to speed

I Had this simalar proble with my 2002 TD4 this was caused by stuck tubo vanes and a replacement turbo was required, But the cause of this is a small oil filter *(size of a cotton reel) situated near the injectors in a plastic housing that gets oil saturated and then passes oil throught to the turbo and burns (you can also get a slight sweet smell out of the exghaust at tick over when hot)

Probable clutch needed

If you put your car in 1'st gear, release the clutch pedal and nothing happens, absolutely the clutch is faulty.

Although fuel pump is about a year old this could be source of your problem.
