How can i get my 1993 mazda mpv van to go into reverse. It acts like it is locked up

It is located up under the dash just to the left of the center console. See picture below. Also there is a Service Letter for shifting problems on this year, so see the dealer if it hasn't been done. Possible engine coolant temp sensor telling ecu it's -40 so it's putting to much fuel in

I had one of these vans. They are fantastic for space, but commonly have electrical issues. The head lights are a single unit, and if you want to replace a bulb, the Whole unit has to be removed. There are several screws located on the top and bottom of the unit, that must come out. Then it slides out easily. Replace your bulb/s then reverse.

The transmission select button varies the shift points , eg; when in 'econo' the trans will shift sooner than when in 'power' mode.
'power' will be to keep the transmission in a higher gear (engine RPMs higher = more power ).

it is located under the skid plate. you'll need to remove the front drive, the alternator, and power steering pump out to remove the starter. need to remove the bottom cover to see it.
