Why ask a clerk? that??
J18 engine has 2 key sensors,
CKP behind the flywheel (aaahhhcraaappppp)
and
CMP on rear of cam,
so what is 340,well the service manual is clear
why not ask it , NOT/clerks.
340 is CAM, or CMP sensor.
lucky you.
no pull transmissions!!

btw ,crank sensor sets DTC p0335

if not wanting to guess, and get rumors and lies.
ever see this?
posted 100s of times. the real deal.
just $4

    now warning on CMP

do not remove the main PUCK
    just the plastic insert sensor
    or now timings way off....
ask how to correct that, using the timing freeze jumper.
the older car, j18 the sensor is all in one

    if you see this,part below
    those slots there,mounts are timing.

    see the 2 kinds here

    small black and easy
    and the PUCK type.
    good luck

I need to know where a cam shaft sensor goes in a 1999 Suzuki Esteem 1. 8 4 door stick show me diagrams

not true, Huseyin.! at all.
OP: (original poster)
J18 engine. FWD. application. USA setup
with COP coils x4 (DIS ignition?)
our Esteems started in 1999....
other countries have them too, but use totally different spark (distributor) and Im not answering for THAT, only USA EPA spec. engines.
some othere countries, has a Mazda. 1.8L BP.
answering for J18 only.
the J18 is an understoked, J20. (early engine)
good to know for parts swaps !

OP backup and read your first post.on same topic.
the answer is there, too.
facing engine, crank pulley on left
see that head, see the front cam,
this cam has the CMP drive (left side,) or right facing engine) the cam drives it directly.
so... is just there.

why? not scan the PCM and see if you have P0340 errors = CMP misfiring..... (even 1 in 10)
and the prev. post has the real diagram....
cmp mount is here.

the part is also shown at the online suzuki parts pages.

Where is the cam shaft sensor located on a 1999 Suzuki Esteem 1.8 Suzuki

double posted. by OP
the 1.8L , is on the left rear of cam, it a twin cam engine, DOHC.
face the engines, front pulley, point to right rear of cam shaft. bingo. CMP

on the 1999, In usa, any scan tool will till you its bad. for sure.
P03xx codes. 340 are cmp failure.
can be seen driving, or parked, engine running, or even CRANKING.
if the scan tool shows no, errors with it, it's not bad.
the PCM will show even 1 missing pulse in 10. (drop outs)
fact. (covered in the FSM book)

here is the parts page.
page 21 shows the mount.

How do you replace crankshaft position sensor on 2001 susuki esteem?

why not post the symptoms? no start, what?
id bet 100% its not bad,
what to find the truth,
use a scan tool to see
RPMs on OBD2 scan, shows 0 rpm crankiing
and cranking for 5 seconds (release key,not off) see P0340 or P0355 or simular DTC? do you? bingo !! The ECU does tell you if
the CKP is bad. sure does. if you look. saving big money if not.

Check engine light

Take your car to an auto store that will hook up there scanner for free. They will tell you what is wrong with the car, the scanner can also turn off the light, and they can sell you the parts you need to fix the car. Chances are you you need an oxygen sensor. Unfortunately, you may have two oxygen sensors that retail about $80 each ( they are the four wire kind self heating kind).

I have a suzuki esteem 1999, My car will sit and idol and run a bit untill its warmed up then it will bog and not take gas I have changed the spark plugs and coils Does anyone one know what I can do

The first thing you need to do is to check the built in onboard diagnostic system to see if the system has diagnosed any problems. Most major auto parts stores like Autozone will do this for you for no charge. Or you can rent a scanner to check the codes. Odds are your onboard diagnostic system may have registered some trouble codes and this can lead you right to the problems. Things to check are the fuel pressure, and the TPS. I would highly recommend getting a good quality auto repair manual for your car, most auto parts stores carry these. These can help diagnose problems, and they show you how to make the repairs. They also show you where to find hard to find parts on your car.

How to check codes on a 2001 Suzuki Esteem

No, the only way to get the engine codes out of this car is to get the codes scaned. Auto zone offers free engine code scans. Hope this helped =)
