Is it too hard to say ,if the starter motor works
eg:
my car cranks ok but will not start!
or
my car will not crank , the starter is silent or just clicks.
baring those, facts, answers will be ALL WRONG.

    Not starting

    this means zero.!
like your lawn mower or the harley
it must be cranked first by hand or
push started, or gavity started (my jeep does all 3)
on my Harley i kick start it.
on your car there is a starter motor
it's a DC electric motor that spins the engine
so the EFI can start it to run and sustain running.

    not cranking has many causes.
cranks but will not start, has 50 more.
ever get a tuneup this decade?

if hot starts fail. and cranks robustly
    then same answer spark plugs,.
cant burn fuel with bad spark ,
of it is gas/petrol and not a diesel.
    no engine stated,
hot starts that fail and sparks ok,
    means usually, flooding.
crank engine with throttle wide open
    and this clears all floods.
    or the injectors are leaking,
lots of tests,. 1 to 10.
but new spark plugs is best.
    the learn to read them.
any time any otto cycle engine cranks
    but will not start.
    black tips.
    wet with fuel
    dry?
    ?

Bad fuel pressure regulator maybe. When engine is fully warmed up, pull the vacuum line off the FPR and see if there is any petrol in the line. If so you just found the problem. Try starting a hot engine with the vacuum line detached. If it fires right up you just confirmed the problem with the FPR.

VIDEO FOR ADJUSTING IDLE 1999 SUZUKI VITARA

You don't say if its manual or auto?
Looking at its age its possible the emission control valves/hoses may be blocked and it just needs a full service and these things checked by a trained person. Check the service periods and go from there. It may be that if all is correct then a person with a screwdriver is all it needs.

My suzuki vitara has check engine light on and is ok for water and i put oil into it as seemed bit low, but it wont start at all. pls help

Check if there's a spark in the cable going to the distributor. If there's none then you may have a problem in the ignition system components. A defective air flow sensor can also cause a no start. If spark is present, you may want to visit the fuel system of your car.

1999 2.0 suzuki vitara will not select reverse when cold, have to leave idling until warm

you may need to change the transmission fluid and filter, when the filter becomes blocked it will not let the cold/thicker fluid through once it warms up the fluid thins outs allowing it to go into gear and shift again

G8D711S is not alarm system. This is Daytime Running Light module. You can pull out the connector, your front lights won't work when an engine start.

My GV 2002 has a Autostart AS1203 alarm system. There is a description on Internet.
