My 1996 Cadillac Deville Concours has the traction control light showing. Inspected by honest transmission place says not worth fixing. correct?

It may be a wheel speed sensor at fault.
To be quite honest, you'd have to get it checked at the dealership or a workshop which has the correct scan tools.

The light being on means the system has detected a problem in one or more sensors. The vibration is the ABS modulating the brakes to prevent skidding because it has detected a wheel that is locked up. That wheel is most likely the one sensor that is giving you the error.

The warning light means the system is disabled due to a problem.
The system would need to be checked for codes.

Hello: There are many things that will cause the lights to come on. You can check the brake fluid if it is low that will cause the light to come on. you can clear the code with a up scale scanner but if the problem is not corrected the light will come back on.

you will need to have the codes cleared to remove the light see what code it is showing when you go to erase the codes then if it comes back on youll need to see amechanic

You torqued the axle nut to the proper spec?

The ABS harness from the new wheel bearing is in the correct clock position?

Are you sure one of the pins in the connector isn't bent? Look carefully in the sensor side of the connector. The male pins are very small and easily bend.

Check the harness on the car side of the connector. It is very common for the harness to break or corrode especially near the connector or anywhere along the harness where it routes through the wheel well area.

There is no way to adjust the timing on your car....if you suspect or have verified that the timing is off, then either something is wrong with the computer, or something has gone wrong mechanically. Fixing a timing issue is not a job advise of the at home mechanic as the Northstar engine is very complex and requires many specialized tools for its repairs.

Hello. The most likely cause of your problem is that the heater/AC relay is on it's last legs. This easy to change. Go to any auto parts store to obtain the part, and ask them to show you where it is located [under the dash]. Then just unplug the old and plug in the new.
