It may just be the switch. The wiper motor is usually under the cowl at the bottom of the windshield. I'd guess the switch is probably wore out so it wont shut off.
it sounds like the power wire you Son hooked up is not grounded and keeps blowing fuses. Try grounding that wire and make sure its not touching any others to spark and burn out fuses.
I suspect that the 4 wire harness includes a ground, so you may not be able to connect both brake lights and turn signals, which are separate lamps on the pickup. You may need to get an adapter.
In any case, the color codes on the pickup are:
Tail lights -- pink/blue
Brake Lights -- green/yellow
Left turn signal -- gray/blue
Right turn signal -- gray/red
Ground -- black
could be a poor ground wire cable or body ground for ecm. Clean battery cables. (check condition of battery. A bad battery (below 9.0v) will cause irratic engine performance. Usually engine will stall. You did not say. check body ground straps. you'll need a digital ohm meter to test further.
its really easy im not to familiar with that vehicle but it all works the same if it hasd a distributer and a seperate coil or even a dis cap mounted coil either way there is two wires that run into that actual coil all you have to do is tap into them and figure out which way works just pull back the unsulation on the two wires that your tac will come with there might be 3 but one will be a ground and just kinda half way hook it up till you see the tac come to life its really easy just be patient and dont worry if the wires are wrong it wont blow anything up the tac just wont work until you hook it up right 9 times out of 10 when you buy a tach it comes with directions
