When does it stop running? 5, 10, 15 minutes or miles? Remove the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter. If it stays running. Replace the cat/s.

Bank 1 is always the same side of the engine as the number 1 cylinder. Bank 2 is always the other side of the engine. Sensor 1 is always before the catalytic converter. Sensor 2 is always after the catalytic converter.

Cylinder 1 is on the passenger side on a 5.4 liter.

It sounds like you need to replace the catalytic converter. It will cause all of these symptoms.

clogged catalytic converter, replace it with a new one, or remove old one, use a long pipe and punch a hole through it, empty out the pieces, and reinstall. That will work if you don't get the sniffer stuck on your exhaust during emissions testing, as your emissions will be very high using my pipe through the converter method.

No it will not it will actually help the performance of your truck the catalytic converter is most likely clogged or blown out by this point anyways.

does this truck have gas or diesel engine?if diesel it does not have a catalitic converter

I have never heard of 4 converters on a vehicle, they are pricey enough. have a good day!! go to a good muffler shop, like monroe.

Advance auto and auto zone sell just the flex pipe. You will need to have someone cut the old one out and weld the new one in. costs about $20 for part vs $300 for pipew/catalitic converter attached.

you might try checking the catalytic converter.. it could be clogged... not letting the engine breathe like it needs to
