could be a bad or weak fuel pump. when engine starts lower pressure will allow the engine to start and run until you try to accelerate then the fuel pump pressure demand goes up, but if not sufficient pressure available will not accelerate
Well, I would replace the air filter, make sure the air hose from the air filter to the intake is not kinked or blocked and check for vacuum leaks. If these are all fine, I would check the fuel pressure as it is possible the pump is weak and not supplying enough fuel.
as for the rattling sound have you checked the heat shield on the catalytic converter, mine was loose and was causing a rattling sound when it was at idle, and would go away as the rpm's increased.
