2006 Nissan Sentra 2.5 Questions & Answers
Ecu/ecm/pcm what will have to be done to it?
You'll have to go back and get the body control module/integrated control module. If you have a factory radio, you might want to grab that also, yours won't work with the other computers. Once you have all that, start replacing them in your car. The key/immobilizer sends a signal to the BCM. If it is right the BCM sends a signal to the PCM. IF that is right, the PCM lets you start and drive the car. Many wires to check before spending money. Known people to do this only to find out they had one broken wire that shut down the system.
Bent valve or valves?
Bent valves cause no compression in the cylinder. 1 cylinder the car will start but run badly. If it starts and runs smoothly at idle, the valves aren't bent. If your running down the road and can't get above a certain speed. Try the fuel filter first(can have pressure, but no volume, clogged), then take a look at the catalytic converters.( these clog and restrict the exhaust flow, no air out, no air in.)
Engines valves?
your engine would be running rough like a fouled spark plug, a super hot exaust system is caused by a vacuum leak witch will also make the engine run rough at idle, a easy way to locate the vacuum leak is the spray parts of the intake system with WD40, intake manifold, vacuum hoses,
Catalytic converter
The exhaust downpipe is glowing red with heat?
To be honest, that may be fuel-air /and or cylinder head problem. A downpipe gets very hot, yes, but they don't glow red.
A faulty oxygen sensor can cause the catalytic converter to overheat - with disastrous results.
If you're not sure what you're doing don't mess around with things. get somebody who knows what they are doing to look at your car and give you an opinion

The fuel pressure regulator will be on the fuel rail. This is a long rail that connects to each fuel injector. On the sentra, the fuel rail will be behind the valve cover on top of the intake manifold.
