You need to have the codes read. If your key has a built in FOB, try changing the battery first. Could be the key, receiver, wiring, or security module.

Just replaced the battery with a new purchased-at-dealer Honda OEM battery. The car starts right and within 2-3 seconds it shuts off with the "key" light flashing for the theft deterrent system....

SYSTEM ARMS AFTER SWITCHING IGNITION OFF, SWITCH IGNITION ON, IMMOBOLIZER WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATES FOR A FEW SECONDS,IF IMMOBOLIZER WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATES FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN FLASHES RAPIDLY,KEY CODE NOT RECOGNIZED, REMOVE KEY AND TRY AGAIN,IF THIS PROCEDURE FAILS.THE DEALERSHIP WILL HAVE TO REPROGRAM KEYS AND THE IMMOBOLIZER.

You could try disconnecting the battery. Some auto part stores rent or let you borrow code readers. Walmart sells cheap code readers too.

Check light is on

there are 100's of faults that turn the check engine light on, have the dealer test the system for the trouble code that is stored in memory when the light comes on, this is warranty.
