My 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan will only start from a jump. It runs after cables disconnected but runs hot shortly after. If I switch it off it will not restart. Any idea what might be the problem?

It makes a clicking sound when I attempt to start it after shutting off after a jump. This leads me to believe that it could be a starter issue would that cause it to run hot while idling?

Really just got around to working on my Chrysler. Thanks. The battery ended up being the start problem. Replaced the thermostat but it still runs hot. I hear the fan when it kicks on. Any ideas?

Either a weak starter or battery is causing the start issue. As for running hot, not a related problem.

Thanks. That's what I figured. I'm going to start with the battery and get it tested before I mess with the starter. I would like to get it starting on its own and then try to figure out why it's running hot.

Replace the battery first! That acid will corrode everything it touches. Once the battery is replaced, you can test if the alternator is working properly.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring sedan?

Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock). The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module. If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!
