The coil burnt out 2 weeks ago. i replaced with new. car running ok. 3 days ago i had to start pumping the accelerator to get the car to start. it has hot progressively worse and is now as described above. i changed the spark plugs and petrol filter. i cleaned the air filter. i sprayed carb cleaner into the air intake. still the same.

Check for a reset switch located in the trunk of most cars.Many cars have a small cover and the switch is under the cover. This switch is for the purpose of cutting off the fuel in case of an accident. If you see a red bitton sticking up, press it to reset the fuel pump.

it starts from cold because the auto choke is on ,allowing a richer mixture ,try removing the sender unit in the tank and seeing if the connection from the pump to the outlet connection is ok or leaking causing a loss of fuel pressure

I am having same issues with my 01 1.8T I've replaced maf meter with new one from parts store :( Could it be speed sensors or bad plugs?
