If goes dead while driving not charging possible bad alternator. If goes dead regardless of driving probably a power drain somewhere. Easy way to test alternator is test battery voltage with a multimeter and make sure at least 12.5. Start car check voltage again and see what it is shot be around 14. If not alternator is most likely bad.

About once every 2 to 3 weeks car won't start. Battery appears dead. Then next day fine. Battery holding charge, not starter either. Baffe

If the battery appears dead when the fault occurs, it probably is the battery (or pos/neg leads) batteries are devious and take pleasure in appearing fully charged. Eliminate further by replacing battery, buy or borrow. Only other explanation is a short to negative on particular day, check starter motor cables. Best of luck.

Sounds like you have a bad alternator, or something drainging your battery, take it to Pep Boys or Autozone, they can do a load test to check the alternator.
