How do you order a intake gasket on a Volkswagen Phaeton 04 4.2 liter engine

when you take them out it's a good idea to keep them in a certian order that you will remember but im guessing that you didnt. its not really a big deal, just put them back in however it shouldnt hurt anything

Take the head to an engineering shop so they can pressure test it to see if its cracked or bent. If its bent / twisted slightly they can skim it, if its cracked they might be able to weld it otherwise you need a new head.

actual changing the gasket is not a hard job. I strongly suggest you go to a parts store and buy a haynes or chiltons manual for your specific truck. these manuals will have step by step instructions for many different repairs for your vehicle

The lower intake manifold gasket will be the problem. This is a high failure rate item and GM has redesigned the gasket a couple times in an attempt to correct it. Currenty Napa has the best replacement gasket and it is known as a "Perma-Dry".
I have done many and have never seen a warped intake. It's worth the fix, take your time and torque the gasket as per the instructions provided.
