SOURCE: installing aftermarket speakers on a 2000 trans am

At the parts store or Radio Shack or the Marts or even a good dollar store they sell slip on connectors that have different color ends, see what size you need and let her crimp them on and finish the job..Just watch her have while having a cold one..

SOURCE: 1998 Audi A4 Quattro rear speaker wiring

You can't use any of those - the large connector at the OEM speakers is because the rears are amplified. Your factory head unit puts out a line level signal to the rear speakers. There's an amplifier on the driver's side rear speaker (the box around the magnet that you can see from inside the trunk).

You need to either replace the head unit with an aftermarket one to drive your new speakers, or you need to tap into the amp connector and find the line level wires, break them out, put RCA plugs onto them, and plug them into an aftermarket amp, which you'd use to power your rear speakers. Doing it that way allows you to keep the factory head unit.

SOURCE: factory speakers sizes

If you go onto the Crutchfield .com web site and click on their link - "outfit my car" it will list your factory speakers. The site will ask for info regarding your particular vehicle: 2 door, 4 door, with bose system, etc. The speaker sizes may be the same for all options. You can find out by clicking on all the options to compare.

Install a jvc radio without a wiring harness adapter

You have a red wire for constant power. That goes to the battery. You have a yellow wire that goes to power that comes on when you turn on the car. Connect that wire to a fuse in your fuse box that comes on when u turn on the car. Usually a radio fuse. Connect your black wire to the solid black wire, that is the ground. Then the speaker wires. There will be 4 sets of wires. 2 wires to a set. Each set of wires will be the same color. One will be solid color, the other will have a stripe. The striped wire is you negative speaker wire. The solid is positive. Just hook them up to the speaker wires you have coming from the stereo and see which are front, rear, left and right.

Sound not comming out of rear speakers

Thanks for choosing FixYa. More then likely, you have a wiring issue. I would advise you to check your speakers first though. If they both went out at the same time, probably a wiring issue. If the speakers don't work, then change them. You can hook your speakers straight to a power source to see if they are working or not.

Change the speakers in a 2001 alero

You have to flip up the speaker cover, and loosen some screws from above. Then lift the speaker easly and reconnect the harness. Be carefully, it´s easy to breake the cover or scratch them...
Good luck to you

Rear speakers don't work

Sir,
I do not want to insult you in any way, but I must ask just in case it was overlooked! First check to be sure that the speaker settings on the stereo were not set all the way to the front. If that is not the problem, you can hook another speaker you know works to the wireing to the rear speakers to check to see if it is the speaker or the wireing. If you hear sound from the speaker you know works, then your speakers in the car are bad. If you do not hear sound, then it will be from the wireing. Next is the more difficult part. You will have to pull the stereo out and can splice into the wires. Hook the good speakers up to the splice and check for sound. make sure you know for sure the wires you splice into are for the rear speakers. If you still hear no sound, then it is more then likely a problem in the stereo itself. If you do hear sound then there is a problem in the wireing somewhere and may be easier to just run new wires to the rear speakers.
