Damaged fly wheels are very rare on most vehicles
On a manual transmission vehicle , it will be from slipping clutch, worn clutch plate and the fix there is to remove and machine the flywheel
if you are referring to the ring gear for the starter motor , it gets damaged in set spots from starter pinion engagement , from incorrect number of teeth of the new starter motor
the fix here is to remove the ring gear from the flywheel and fit a new one
If it is an auto transmission besides the teeth problem , the flex plate ( not actually a flywheel) cracks and breaks off the crankshaft bolts
fix here is a new flex plate as it fixes both the teeth problem and the broken flex plate
flex plate failure is common with auto transmissions caused from incorrectly fitted torque converters , faulty torque converters or from the auto transmission being allowed to hang of the flex plate during removal / refitting process

-you mean broken teeth...? If so possibly crank the engine while it's still running.

Good Luck

Why my fly wheel keep breaking on 05 trailblazer

What exactly do you mean by "breaking"? Use the comment Button below with more information please.
It takes a hell of a lot to damage the flywheel on the crank shaft end of an engine. Has the flywheel been removed recently? If it hasn't been refitted correctly it can cause big problems. A poorly fitted clutch assembly can also cause issues. A more common reason for damage to a flywheel is a faulty starter motor no releasing properly, chewing off the teeth around the rim of the flywheel.

2009 Chevy aveo wont shift after clutch is released and car still running. The clutch cable and gear cable move but nothing else.

Assuming you are familiar with the usual clutch faults there are three less common problems that could cause disengagement problems.

Rusty or gummy splines preventing the driven plate moving away from the flywheel when disengaged.

Contaminated friction material causing the faces to stick together.

Damaged or partially seized clutch pilot bearing.

I hope this helps...

BMW car accelerating failures

The fault reason appears in the instrument panel or internal damage EML control module. EML system has self diagnosis function, also has the failure protection function, when the EML system failure, it can transmit the signal to the engine control module, common control solar term door position motor, maintain solar term door opening to suppress the rotation speed of the engine, so the fault that caused the engine speed can't go up. Use obd2 for automotive diagnostics , you can improve vehicle safety performance and driving more safer.

Juddering in first gear, how do i resolve this issue?

Causes for juddering may be: 1) Uneven idle, but on a four cylinder car, you would notice the engine shaking if that were the case. 2) Failing guibo, which is the rubber cushion between the transmission and the driveshaft, but those rarely fail on 318s. That is a common M3 problem. 3) Non-OEM clutch facing that does not engage smoothly. Usually worse when cold or damp. Has your clutch been replaced? 4) Heat damage to the flywheel. This is the worst-case scenario because the flywheel for this car cannot be machined and a new one costs about $1000. If that is the case, I would just put up with it.

Hello I have a 2001 Range Rover it stops after you drive it for about 10 minutes then will not restart until it cools down.I had an issue with the air flow sensor but have replaced this.

Hi it is common on range rovers that the flywheel flex plate cracks or brakes up, this in turn damages the crank sensor causing the engine to stop. I have had more than one car with this same fault.
Remove and inspect crank sensor for damage10 mins job just above the sump on left side of car from underneath.
Thanks rob

Drives perfectly and brakes fine too.
Warning light indicates Suspension Stability control
but diagnosed as yours at the same cost.
Apparently quite a common fault with series 1 , but BMW do not tell you that !!
