I recently changed the tensioner pulley. now the car won't start. i was curious some of the causes that it could be
Unless you have damaged or disconnected some electrical component in the engine bay whilst you were working on the car there should be no connection between the car not starting and the work you carried out. Just replacing the belt tensioner unit and refitting the serpentine belt correctly would have no impact the the starting condition of the engine. If you have removed and refitted other components on the engine to get access to the tensioner unit or the belt I would very carefully go back over your work.
You don't say in your post if the engine is cranking and not starting or if you have a no crank/no start condition.
You have to remove the whole bracket that the tensioner assembly is attached to then you can get at the bolts that holed the tensioner and pulley together to service. Have fun.

There is a ground wire that runs between the body and the top of the serpentine belt tensioner assembly plate. This ground wire must be removed when you unbolt and either move or remove the assembly to get at the tensioner pulley. Did you reattach the wire after you completed the pulley replacement and refitting of the assembly to the engine.
