Tried everything n still wont crank. 89Suburban 1500 5.7 sat unused for 8yrs. Tried everything

give tune up and flush fuel system and possible may have to rebuild or replace the carb

Might be a bad starter, bad connection, or bad cables or switch.

CKP sensor or cam sensor. one goes bad and causes other to go bad. easy fix and not too expensive.

sounds like maybe your ignition control module is going bad, if it only cranks over every once in a while and has a mind of its own.

First thing is to check is the ignition fuse/relay under the hood for a blown fuse or bad relay. If everything is ok then set parking brake with truck in park/netural and have someone to turn the ignition over to start and at the same time use a test light to check for fire at the starter solenoid. If no fire then the ignition switch or netural switch on transmission is causing the problem. If you do have power to the starter solenoid then the problem would be either the solenoid or the starter drive locked up on the flywheel. Be sure to remove the negative wire from the battery if you need to remove the starter. Hope this will help you.

Are you saying the car turns over (cranks) but it does not start? Or, the car is Not turning over?
If it is cranking over but not starting, and it ran fine before sitting for the year, it may be water/moisture in the gas. Try some dry gas, and/or Carb-fuel injection cleaner in your gas tank.

It may be the cam position sensor or the crank position sensor

if your check engine light is on,yes.it worked for me.

bad gas?...can you make it run spraying carb cleaner into intake snorkle?

1. hold gas pedal to floor while trying to start. do not pump pedal.
2. holding pedal to floor is how you start a flooded f.i. engine
