Trying to swap in driver's seat from a 1998 V70. But the electrical connections are different. What's up?

The '98 has only two connectors to attach to the seat. But the '99 has four - two of which are two pins only. On the other hand, the 4 pin connector which is common to both seats has only two pins actually populated in the connector shell. So did Volvo move these to one of the separate 2 pin connectors in 1999? If so, I could kludge a conversion. But what about the other 2 pin connector? PS - SPS light on dash stays lit after '98 seat installed.

99 and newer cars have computer modules in them therefore the wiring connectors and control units are not interchangeable with earlier model cars.

98 Aurora's heated seat not working

Check your fuses first. Then check to see if you have power to the box under seat. It should be about 3x3 and black I think. If you have power to the box change the box. To check use a test light. make sure the key is on and the button is pushed then probe the wires going to the box. Hope this helps you.

How to replace driver's seat sun visor? It has a long wire with connection at the end, but I don't know how to get to wherever it plugs in.

You can pull the "A" pillar cover or just do like most. Separate the two wires, then cut and splice in the new one with **** connectors

Volvo V70 xc AWD '98 - fuel filter change

Brandonlo168,

The fuel filter can be located under the carpeted cargo storage floor at the rear of the wagon. Remove the four 10mm bolts, remove the cover. You will then see a removeable plate to the right just behind the rear passenger seat. Fuel filter can be seen through hole in hole. Replaced from underneath wagon. Be sure to make sure lines are fully inserted onto filter. Check for leaks. No smoking, extinguisher handy. Note arrow on filter for correct fuel flow.

Seat swap......installing '98 front seats in a '93 explorer

a ford agency has, in the parts dept., the wiring diagrams of cars of previous vintages. in one such book, i discovered that the black-with-white-trim wire beneath the front seats of the '98 is the +12v wire, labelled b/w on the diagram. on the '93 it is the blue wire, with a different plug configuration. got both plugs from wrecked cars, wired up a spliced transition harness so that one would adapt to the other, and it all worked fine. hope this info will save some other wrecking yard artist from having to do the same task. ggp
