Possible solutions include: Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary Clean the MAF sensor. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling Inspect fuel lines for cracks, leaks, or pinches Check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail Check the fuel injectors, they may be dirty. Use fuel injector cleaner or get them professionally cleaned/replaced. Check for an exhaust leak before the first oxygen sensor (this is unlikely to cause the problem, but it is possible)

P0172 - System Too Rich (Bank 1)
The adaptive fuel strategy continuously monitors the fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a lean calibrated limit. Refer to Section 1 , Powertrain Control Software, Fuel Trim for more information. Fuel System.
  • Fuel Pressure Regulator (vacuum hose off, diaphragm leak, malfunctioning).
  • Leaking fuel injectors.
  • Fuel return line restricted.
  • Fuel rail pressure sensor (incorrect reading).
  • EVAP canister purge valve leak (when canister is full).
Base engine.
  • Engine oil contamination.
Air Measurement System.
  • MAF sensor (contaminated, damaged, or corroded connector).
View Freeze Frame Data to determine the operating conditions when the DTC was set. Observe the LONGFT1 and LONGFT2 PID(s). Refer to Section 2 , Adaptive Fuel DTCs Diagnostic Techniques for more information.

Check engine light on, scan code p0175. I already change MAF and check O2 sensors. have you any advice?

code p 0175 refers to system too rich bank 2===causes --intake blocked ---EVAP canister purge valve ---fuel pressure ---EGR system---injector/s ---HO2S
basically you changed the wrong sensor as the HO2S sensor is the sensor in the exhaust manifold or before the cat converter
It tells the ECM to adjust the injector flow for that bank to a leaner mixture (O2 sensors are after the cat and tell the ECM if the mixture is right for complete burn
it could be from a bad injector that is leaking at the tip and the ECM cannot control the fuel mix

How to fool the ecm by altering the o2 sensor.

What code is it giving ? p0172 system too rich bank 1 ? If it is staying around 0.8 millivolts try introducing a vacuum leak an see if it goes lean ! If it does it is working fine . You probably have leaking fuel injectors or a fault fuel pressure regulator ! You need a better scan tool to check fuel trims , short term am long term ,to see if the computer is adding or subtracting fuel ! Oxygen Sensor Test fixed rich signal Ford O2 Sensor Testing

I have a 2003 trailblazer with 4.2 engine. Losing power when driving especially when going up hill (even small hill). Will drop down to 15 mph. got a code of p0172. Replaced O2 sensor and the...

Yes , it is more then likely the Catalytic converter is clogged ! Pull the O2 sensor before the Cat an do a back pressure test ! Testing for plugged clogged restricted exhaust converter An your P0172 means you have a rich condition , does not mean O2 sensor is bad ! Do you have 4.3 L vortex ? Could be bad fuel pressure regulator leaking ! caused your cat to have a melt down an starting to plug ! 4.3L or 5.0L vortex engines . with spider injectors ! chevy vortec p0172 p0175 So you have two problems ! Hope this helps !

Function of oxygen sensor?

It measures the oxygen in the exhaust system, for instance, if the fuel is to rich it sends values to the computer and the computer will adjust the fuel and timing to bring it back into perimeters
