SOURCE: 92 lexus ls 400 check engine and traction control light came on at the same time, 92 lexus ls 400.

the track off light will come everytime yhe check engine light comes on. this is normal. you need to have the check engine light checked first.you can go to your local parts house they will scan it for so you at least see what area you problem is in and then you can start from there. let me know lf you find out youe engine codes.

SOURCE: brake lights stay on 1991 Lexus LS 400

Simple fix... Just replace the brake light switch. It is located on the brake pedal arm about 6 inches above the pedal, it will have a plug going to it as well.

SOURCE: i have a 1996 lexus 400 LS. My check engine light

P0420 is "catalyst system below efficiency". It means that the car thinks a catalytic converter is bad. It could be that the cat is failing, but it also may be that the secondary oxygen sensor (behind the cat, used as a comparator to determine the health of the cat) is failing. As that part is about 10% of the cost of a new catalyst, I'd replace it first, have the code cleared, and see if it comes back.

My lexus ls 400 has no power but it is running. What's the problem.

The first thing to have checked is the fuel pressure, low pressure kills the power.

Mechanic says I need motor mounts and front brakes transmission fluid changes

Motor mounts- so the engine won't vibrate so bad at high speed; Front brakes pad? you can check by yourself, or asked them to show you how much pad left. For brake rotors, you can just re-surface it (about $30 each); Transmission fluid - you can just drain and fill (about $40).

Automatic transmission fluid

For a total rebuild it is 12 liter, for a filter change it is 5 liter. But I would check the dipstick if it has to be sure. Hope this helps.

The transmission seems to be slipping. How can you tell? Would changing the transmission fluid and filter help or hurt a car with 246K miles? If slipping what alternatives for repairing besides...

changing the fluid and filter would not hurt at all in fact adding a bottle of lucas som times gets people another 10,000 ive seen it happen give it a shot you have nothing to loose but the 30 dollars on parts and labor assuming you would be doing the work

1994 LEXUS LS 400

Jim,

I would just check the wiring going to the sensor on the washer fluid bottle. There could be a loose wire. Once the wire is checked. The only other option is to change out the washer bottle . The sensor is not sold seperately.
