I have a 99 range Rover hse I keep getting gearbox fault warning and truck is not shifting properly just replaced airbags for springs and also just replaced alternator last week

the fuel filter is located under the vehicle , below drivers foot well , you will have to remove the plastic shield that connects to the gearbox to get to the filter

I don't know the solution and I don't want $$ but have you checked all your mode switches? It sounds like you have selected hill climbing mode or something similar.

gear box is underneath connected to tranny its a 3 8ths rachect hole thats what you need to fill it or change

Try disconnecting the vehicle battery for 45 mins then reconnect to see if the fault goes away

Unfortunately, there is a trick to replacing the battery.
1) Open the Driver side door.
2) Open the Bonnet and take the battery cover off.
3) Use your remote to lock and unlock the car (keeping the driver side door open)
4) Pull the Negative Lead from the battery first, followed by the Positive Lead.
5) Change or replace with charged battery.
6) Closed down Bonnet.
7) Your windows, sunroof, and key FOB will not work... so follow the next steps.

7a) Insert your key, with door closed into the exterior lock on driver's side.
7b) While turning the key to lock the door, hold down the "lock" button on your remote for 5 seconds while in "lick" position
7c) Your remote will reset, and you should be able to use your remote now
7d) While driving, roll each window down twice. On your third attempt, you should only have to touch the window button, and the window will have reset

Airbag resets need to be taken to the dealer or someone with access to the right diagnostic equipment(unlikely) Store bought code readers will not work.

This new five-passenger premium sport-utility vehicle filled a price gap between Land Rover's LR3 and its ultraluxury Range Rover models. In fact, the all-wheel-drive Range Rover Sport was smaller than either, designed to compete with "high-performance" SUVs such as V8 versions of the BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne, as well as Cadillac's SRX. Based on the seven-passenger LR3's body-on-frame structure, the Range Rover Sport came as the HSE model with a 300-horsepower, 4.4-liter V8, and in Supercharged trim with a 390-horsepower, 4.2-liter V8. Both engines were sourced from Jaguar, which was owned by Land Rover's parent company, Ford. A six-speed automatic with manual shift gate was the sole transmission.
