Need to replace head light bulb on 2006 Saab 9-7X, similar to 06' TrailBlazer

There are not two rods, there are two clips one under fender weild and one right above the light on top of the cover. Pull up on these two clips and pull the light forward a couple of inches and remove the dust cover. You have to take the air filter cover off to be able to reach in and replace the light. It took me about 10 min to figure these out but hope it helps out.

remove a few of the clips on the inner fender liner, depending on which bulb u are replaceing(left or right?) turn the wheels in either direction and u will be able to slide ur hand or arm between the liner and fender to gain access to the bulbs and connectors..do not remove the battery .

Simple! (I have the same model as well) Pop off the front chevy grill - it's held on with spring clips. Then look at the headlight assembly - there are 2 slide clips on either side, near the top - they have a tab that is bent forward - lift them UP. It may take a little force as they are usually stiff. The headlight assembly can then be pulled off the car, and the bulbs replaced.

sounds like your drivers door module either fried or lost power, if you can get it scanned it should come up with a trouble code, or if your inclined, you can check the connectors on the module for the switches and make sure they are in all the way. just gently pull up on the trim around the switches starting at the rear of the trim, 2 clips hold it in place, it should pop out, then you can check the connectors

Headlight Bulb Replacement
1. Open the hood and remove the two headlight mounting
screws.
2. Remove the push-in fasteners for the grill area by prying under the
head of the fasteners with a flat bladed tool.
