I have a 2007 Eddie Bauer Explorer how do I fix the message center that keep flashing circle slowly then it flashes calibrate complete.

Sounds like you need to reset your Oil life/ maintenance reminder light. (also, double check your oil level)

To reset Oil life on a standard dash stlye:
1. pres and release the TRIP/RESET button until the message center displays SETUP MENU HOLD RESET
2. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button for 2 seconds until the message center displays RESET FOR SYS CHECK
3. press and hold the TRIP/RESET button for 2 seconds until the message center displays OIL LIFE xx% RESET IF NEW
4. Press and release the TRIP/RESET button until the message center displays HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL
5. Press and hold TRIP/RESET button for 2 seconds and release to reset oil life to 100%
6. Message center will briefly display OIL CHANGE SET TO 100%


With a message center cluster the procedure is as follows:
1. press and release SETUP button until message center displays PRESS RESET TO BEGIN SYSTEM CHECK
2. Press and release RESET button until the message center displays HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL
3. Press and hold RESET button for 2 seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%
4. The message center displays SETUP MENU HOLD RESET

My change oil display on my 2005 ford explorer i changed the oil and it wont go out

Press your reset button on the on board diagnostics which is located on the dash, keep pressing the rest button until you see "oil life" once you come to the oil life, hold the reset button until it reads "Oil Life 100 percent" release the reset button, shut the vehicle off then re start it, that will turn off the message in the message center telling you to change your oil.

  1. Press and release the SETUP button until the message center displays PRESS RESET TO BEGIN SYSTEM CHECK.
  2. Press and release the RESET button until the message center displays HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL.
  3. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds and release to reset the oil life to 100%.
  4. The message center displays SETUP MENU HOLD RESET.
Oil Life Reset - Base Instrument Cluster

NOTE: The oil life calculation is set at a maximum of approximately 8,000 km (5,000 miles) or 180 days.

  1. Place the ignition in the RUN position with the engine off (KOEO).
  2. Press and release the TRIP/RESET button until SETUP MENU HOLD RESET is displayed.
  3. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button until SYSTEM CHECK is displayed.
  4. Release the TRIP/RESET button.
  5. Press and release the TRIP/RESET button to scroll through the system check menu items until HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL is displayed.
  6. Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button until OIL LIFE SET TO 100% is displayed.
  7. Release the TRIP/RESET button. The oil life is now reset.

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change [approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the following:
  1. Enter SYSTEM CHECK to display "OIL XXX% OIL LIFE OK".
  2. Press RESET control to display "HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL".
  3. Press and hold RESET control for more than 2 seconds. Oil life is set to 100% and "OIL CHANGE SET TO 100%" is displayed

After oil change the warning light ( Oil change required ) still ON

You need to reset it manually after you change the oil. If you have the owners manual it will explain how to do this. If you don't have it you get get a PDF version online at ford.com.

Essentially you need to scroll through the message center until system scan appears. enter it and a message will come up oil life press reset if new or oil life hold reset if new. Follow those instruction and the oil life will eventually change to 100%.

Running Boards which will not retract?

If the running boards are out before start your vehicle, open door,go to your fuse box and pull the fuse. The back of the panel will tell you what each fuse is for and location. This'll keep them from retracting.

2007 FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC 4X4 Change oil light on

Press and hold the SELECT/RESET
control switch to select SYSTEM
CHECK when “SYSTEM CHECK /
HOLD RESET” is displayed in the
message center. Selecting this
function from the SETUP MENU
causes the message center to cycle through each of the systems being
monitored. For each of the monitored systems, the message center will
indicate either an OK message or a warning message for two seconds.
Pressing the SELECT/RESET control switch cycles the message center
through each of the systems being monitored.

The sequence of the system check report and how it appears in the
message center is as follows:
1. OIL LIFE RESET
2. CHARGING SYSTEM
3. WASHER FLUID
4. DOOR AJAR
5. EXTERIOR LAMP
6. BRAKE SYSTEM
7. PARK BRAKE
8. MILES TO EMPTY
9. FUEL LEVEL LOW (will only display if 50 miles or less to empty)
To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
[approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the
following:
1. Enter SYSTEM CHECK to display

I need to add daytime running lamps to an 08 exlorer u.s. version non fleet. any suggestions?

All you have to do is carry it to your dealer and have them install there IDS scan tool and access programmable parameters in the smart junction box and turn on the feature.

Here is a copy of a broadcast message from Ford(sorry for the caps I just copied and pasted) on this:
20328 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER/2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION
SOME 2006-2008 EXPLORER 4DR/MOUNTAINEER, AND 2007-2008 EXPLORER SPORT TRAC VEHICLES MAY HAVE CUSTOMERS THAT DESIRE TO ACTIVATE OR DEACTIVATE THE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRL). THE FEATURE HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE IDS AND PDS SCAN TOOLS AS A PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETER. THE PROCEDURE IS TO: SELECT MODULE PROGRAMMING FROM TOOLBOX, SELECT PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETERS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS.
