or get it serviced,
i cant guess reality, not ever, that be god like.
but if you can get it to a shop and not overheat the engine
it may be ok.
but noises , can be very very serious.

the accessory parts can all make noise,
what makes noise is key here, and no net bunny on earth can guess it. it must be found. by a live human.

I had the same problem at about the same mileage. Replaced the power steering pump and the start up screaming went away! ( The Jeep's and mine!)

If you think it's the timing belt, get it replaced or inspected.
Even though there are other things that might make a noise, the damage you might do by having the timing belt fail while the engine is running are not worth the risk.

Check the front stabilizer bar and the bushings on it. It is located under the radiator with arms that bend back to each front tire.

Its hard to tell, but first most part I would get a second option on what is going on with the motor. 99% of the time your gas cap will not cause the engine light to come on at all. I don't believe Jeep Liberty's even have a sensor to detect that. Don't drive it, a clak clak clak sound coming from the motor it self could be as simple as adjusting a few things or something more serious. Good luck and feel free to ask more questions for help.
