How to replace wiper motor

Owners manual will give fuse locations and identifications. These vehicles are notorious for having the wiper motors/pivot seize. Try turning on the wiper motor switch and try moving the wiper arm by hand with a little force in the direction of its travel. If wiper begins or starts to work, replacement of the motor will be necessary

Cleaning the switch is not possible - if it is malfunctioning, it needs to be replaced. You can check the various functions by disconnecting the washer/wiper cable at the bottom of the steering column and checking continuities, but you will need the wiring schematic (shop manual). In the meantime, you should pull the ACCY fuse (15a) in the underhood fuse box.

The wiper motor and transmission are located at the left side of the car under the air inlet cover at the bottom of the windshield. Did you check the fuses?

bent/broken wiper arms under the base of the windshield..remove the vent cover and service/replace broken parts.

It can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.

If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring: -----

First I suggest to check fuses and good condition, could view the location in the Cadillac Owners Manual; next step, check voltage to wires from/at wiper motor, and finally check winshield motor.

if you have rainsensor wipers make sure that you have not just turned them off.Sensor is in the windshield in front of the rear view mirror.
