Go to the auto parts and get a container of Heat fuel treatment and get a new fuel filter also. Then pour in the proper amount of fuel treatment and change the fuel filter. This should fix your problem. Also when was the last time you changed the air filter. This would help it run better and increase your mileage.
Testimonial: "so I went to the auto parts store near my house and found out cylinder 2 wasnt firing correctly so i swapped out the spark plugs which did need to be changed. This stopped the sputtering however the care would sputter and the exhaust would backfire if i turned drastically or if i braked and gave it gas to fast. I am going to drain my tank to see if theres anything in it (probably water) but I dont know where the plug is to the tank"

Just trowing some suggestions out there, but, I would check the idle air control valve (solenoid) or the throttle position sensor. If they check out then my last guess would be the map sensor or the vaccuum to the map sensor. Hope I was able to help. Best wishes.

first you have to check for code with scanner , sounds like you have sensor problem , (coolant temp sensor map sensor etc). it could be a fuel delivery issue like lean condition . but the code for engine light will guide you in right direction. good luck

Check the fuel filter to see if it is plugged.
Remove the fuel filter, and blow air through it in the normal direction of fuel flow. You should be able to blow through it very easily. If it feels restricted, try blowing through it the opposite way, and if there is a lot of dirt coming out, you have found a common cause of this problem. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: is the fuel filter in the gas tank? the car has
I believe the fuel filter on the Breeze is located over the tank and is somewhat hard to get to. However if you have a miss at idle I would look at sparkplug wires and plugs first.

sounds like a dry coil
coils are built with an insulation to dissipate heat
in the old days they used "oil" and you knew they were almost dead when the vehicle would do just want you mentioned... die while driving and not restart until cooled down
today's coils are much different except they use a solid insulation...when this breaks down you get the same affect
after 14 years, assuming you have the original coil its a safe bet!!!
