You need to lift up about 3-4 black plastic "screws" that hold the black plastic cover in its place. Then you need someone with small hands to put one hand behind the light enclosure and open it by turning the back cover where its arrow points. Then open the metal holder that keeps light bulb in its place and pull the light bulp of from the cord. Then put new bulb to its place, test lights and put everything in its place in reverse order.

If the new light will not lit up, then use contact spray on the connector and jerk the bulp back and forth for awhile to clean it up.

How to Change a Headlight Bulb on a Toyota

Replacing a headlight bulb is the most basic thing that you can do for your own car. Anyhow, if you have never changed a headlight bulb in your life, you may be a little bit lost at what to do with it. Replacing the faulty headlight bulbs on a very famous Toyota car is not difficult. Before you can replace one out, you need to have the bulb. It is best to go out in the sunshine when you do not need your car's headlights to pick one up. You need to know the maker and the model of your vehicle. For example, if you are having a 2001 Toyota Corolla, then you will need to look for that. At almost all auto stores, they will have books and photo albums by the headlight bulb so you can look up the right bulb that you need for your type of vehicle. After finding the exact bulb what you need, then you should get it. Now we can move towards the installation of your car's new headlight bulb!

Installation Of Your Car's New Headlight Bulb

You need to pop open the hood of your car and this is the first most things that you need to do. You can use a torch light to find the back of car's headlight. This is very easy to find, because they are on the back side of where they are located on the front of your vehicle. At this point of time, you need to observe, or you will observe that some Toyota made vehicles have a protecting cover of the back of their headlight unit. This is what requires a screwdriver to remove it. Just find all of the screws on the back plate, and then remove them all in order to reach the headlight bulb. After removing the screws, you should be able to take off the back plate easily. On some models of the cars you will observe that after taking off the back plate, here you can see many wires that are corked up in by plastic clips. At this moment, you will need to remove that plastic clip away and push all of the wires out of your way. You do not want to deal with any of that. As soon as you move all the wires, the dead headlight bulb will be seen.

Removing your car's headlight bulb is as easy as taking a bulb out of a lamp. You can easily remove it by squeezing it to the left side. Now take your new bulb and put this bulb in and move it to the right side to lock it. It is a good idea to test the headlight at this point to make sure that it is working right before you put everything back together. Turn on the ignition switch of your car and turn the lights on. Now come out from your car to make it sure that the light are on. After ensuring that the lights are on and fixed properly, put the plastic clip back on wiring and put the back plate back onto its place. Make it sure that you insert all of the screws. Make sure that you picked all of your tools before closing the hood of your car, and here you have completed your changing headlight bulb task!
How to change the bulb in 1999 RAV-4

Instructions
    • Open the RAV4's hood and locate the headlight bulbs plugging into the rear of the headlight assemblies. Each assembly has two bulbs, one outer and one inner. Unplug the wiring harness from the rear of the burnt-out headlight, by pressing the locking button and pulling down on the harness.
    • 2Grab the rear of the bulb and rotate the bulb about a quarter turn counterclockwise to unlock it. Pull the bulb from the headlight assembly.
      3
    • Grab a new 9005 (high beam) or 9006 (low beam) bulb by its plastic base. Insert the bulb in the rear of the headlight assembly, lining up the tabs on the bulb with the notches in the headlight assembly, and twist it clockwise to lock the bulb in place. Do not touch the glass part of the headlight bulb, as the oils from your hands can cause the bulb to fail prematurely.
    • 4Plug the wiring harness into the receptacle on the rear of the bulb

How to change a headlight on a 1993 toyota corolla

How to Change Headlights in a Toyota Corolla. :--- the procedure is as follows:-------- 1)Unfasten the battery cables on the Toyota Corolla with an open end wrench and remove the battery from the engine compartment. Set the cables aside so that they do not come into contact with each other or any metal parts. 2)Remove the coolant and water containers that are in the engine compartment near the front of the motor by undoing the brackets that are holding them in place with a socket wrench and moving the containers aside. They only need to be moved enough to provide you access to the area behind the headlamps and do not need to be drained.3)Locate the headlight plug on the back of the headlight and turn the plug 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to loosen the plug. Then pull it straight back to detach it from the headlight.4)Locate the clip on the side of the plug and push it in and up to detach the old headlight bulb. Take the old bulb out of the plug and place the new bulb in the plug using a clean cloth to handle the bulb.5)Push the new bulb in to the plug and turn it until you hear the clip lock into place. Insert the plug into the back of the head light assembly and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure the plug. 6)Repeat this procedure with the other headlight bulb and then move the coolant and water containers into place and secure then to the vehicle. Put the Toyota Corolla battery back in the engine compartment and reattach the battery cables. Thats it. This will help. How to change a headlight light bulb on toyota prius 2006?

they are usually changed from inside the engine compartment. you should be able to gain access to the bulb behind each headlight bazel. the socket often has to be turned to remove it. be careful not to touch the new bulb with your fingers as that will shorten it's lifespan. you may have to remove the battery if the burnt out bulb is on that side.
