Jaguar XJ 6 97 engine shuts down acts like its not getting gas engine will restart and 22 to 35 minutes will run for about 5 minutes then shut down again could this be a gas filter problem

Could very well be the fuel filter, try replacing it, aslo check for a cramped fuel line, if the problem persists, check the fuel pump

Engine shuts down on deceleration

Well 145K is alot of miles, catera's are not that reliable especially after 100K. It sounds like you could have multiple issues but take it to a mechanic asap before it becomes unfixable.

Car shuts down at the same distance from home while I drive

You need to perform an OBDII scan due to your cars age. Get a print out of fault history. Let that be your guide to any parts replacement. My personal Honda Accord is a 1989 and my rule is regular replacement of air filter, fuel filter and a can of B&G44K fuel additive. B&G is the best on the market and is only available at dealerships (11.00 a can at Toyota) Do not substitute. Do these 3 things every 30,000 miles for continued performance.

Fuel pump relay

If this happens every time you start your truck and it shuts off the same each time, you just might have a dirty fuel filter only allowing so much gas pass through until it clogs once again. I once had a chevy van, when I would drive it, would go a few miles and engine would shut down.   I would wait 10 or 15 minutes, it would start up and allow me to drive a few more miles then shut down again.  I changed the fuel filter, It was fine after that.
