1996 Ford F150 Regular Cab Questions & Answers
1996 ford f150 blows the 10amp fuse going to the speed odometer.
I'm glad you found what was causing the fuse to blow. A wiring diagram is almost a must when troubleshooting electrical. you may be able to find that sensor at a pick-a-part or wrecking yard. Just be extreamly careful, it is very easy to set off the air bag. Make sure that all power is off before working around that area.
Does hydraulic slave cylinder bearing need greasing?
Hi Sheila:
The clutch slave cylinder pushes against a throwout arm
The throwout arm is a lever and it pushes against the throwout bearing which thenpresses against the clutch plate and dis-engages the clutch.
Throwout bearings are typically sealed units that last until they fail, at which time they get replaced.
You should not have to worry about greasing it.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
Where is the ignition control module on 1996 Ford
That's' not it when they go they go all the way and burn out go to your power distribution box cable and battery cables and clean them with 4 / 0 steel wool and alcohol then reconnect them corrosion is most likely blocking the electrical connections and causing the lost power also check that it has oil and antifreeze in it and not overheating and safe guard is kicking in shutting it down to cool off and this might be an idle air control valve that is failing causing the shutdown do the cables first and relays before you spend $$$$on things with no results again
Hi , i broke a part on my 1996 f150 4.9l it is
If it has a plug connected to it, yes you do need it. There is a reference current running through it which feeds info back to your computer. If it's unplugged for a while it would cause the check engine light to come on and the truck may run rough.
Engine light on, rattling valves, truck shakes when start and stop
How many miles on it ? Engine light on ? have it checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes . could have timing chain issues or a problem with the VVT system - do you know what that is ?
In internal combustion engines, variable valve timing (VVT) is the process of altering the timing of a valve lift event, and is often used to improve performance, fuel economy or emissions. It is increasingly being used in combination with variable valve lift systems.
Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop ,dealer .
Why do I have no auto night headlights, no electronic mirror adjustments and no auto locks. They all quit on my 3/96 4.6L single cab f150 lariat, why?
after all fuses and relays verified are working it sounds like you have keyless entry on the door panel with a keypad and in either case theres a driver door module inside the door panel this may have gone or the fuse for that has blown I'm ssuming that you have the owners manual with the diagrams if not ford owners .com register then download your manual then go to roadside emergencies and the fuse and power distribution box diagrams are there also this could be you headlight switch so if the fuses are all good then lookat the door module on the drivers side next to the speaker or the headlight switch do the windows work also check the master window switch this is because all components have some borrowed power from other wire circuits so look carefully at all of these even a corroded wire or contact can cause havoc on other systems clean al and a light dab or spray of wd40 will help you good luck Stephen
A/c Compressor clutch issues (electrical)
Assuming you have the system adequately pressurized with gas, check out the low pressure cut off switch. If it is in the open position no current will reach the clutch windings and the compressor will not operate.
