How do I replace alternator instructions

When you replace the fans do you validate that it runs when you switch on the aircon? some cars have alternating relay system that when one of it fails the fan will work when engine is hot but will not work when aircon is on. If all the engine cooling system and cooling fan electricals are fine then you may have to get your aircon system serviced. Particularly the radiator in front of the coolant radiator.

You need to test using a multimeter of you are getting charge , should be around 14.4 volts with engine running then turn on all accesorys to see if it handles load , lights , aircon , radio etc , if pulley is squeky throw a bit of water on belt if noise goes away temporarily it is the belt if not you have to replace alternator , alternator pulleys are nit really interchangeable , just buy a second hand one

It's brushes are probably and you need to replace the blower motor. It might be a good idea to inspect the wire harness plugging into the motor to see if it's burnt.

you may have a faulty voltage regulator remove alternator and have it repaired by shop or replace with a used unit (cheaper)

Because aircon uses a lot of power, it causes the revs to drop and the car to use more fuel. Just a fact of life. If you don't NEED to use the aircon - don't use it. And if you do need to use it, expect expenses to rise.

It could be a part called the Idle control Valve. It regulates the Idle speed and keeps it smooth. If it is choked up with carbon gum or the little motor inside it is faulty then it will not allow enough air too pass for smooth idle. When you put your air con on the engine is under more load because it has too turn the aircon pump so it will stall. Also you have a little device on aircon cars that raise the idle a little to compensate for the extra aircon load. If this is not working it could be that.

i have a 2001 s type 3.0 l it has a timing chain not a belt are you talking about the aux drive belt which drives the alternator ,coolant pump,aircon,steering pump
