My1999 audi A8 L4.2 battery light started flashing, radio shut off, lights dimmed, then car died. charge battery and now it only s because the battery has a dead cell get it because the battery has a deador the alternatorand when its running I try to hit the gas and it dies

It sounds like your alternator is not charging. You may want to have it tested and replace/rebuild it if necessary. Many times the problem is that the brushes are worn in the alternator and it stops charging correctly. The brushes are usually attached to the voltage regulator and are replaceable if you have the parts and skill. You can also replace the voltage regulator/brush assembly as a unit.

Many parts stores will test your alternator for free.

About the only thing you can do is disconnect the battery and connect them again after 5 minutes. If that do not work check for blown fuse. Other than that then the XM radio has been damaged by the charger.
