Where is the thermostat on my 2.8 V6 engine 1999?
If it's the same as the 99 2.8 V6 in the A4, it's quite a ways inside the front of the engine. You have to remove a lot of the front of the engine and you'll find it partially hidden behind the timing belt tensioner. Foolish place to put such a part unfortunately, but at least on my A4 that's where it is.

I have a 1999 audi a8 q it is runnen rough
no heavy oil not going to help misfire. if you have a cylinder misfiring it has to be plug, plug wire, coil ,dist.cap &rotor, vavle,or piston rings ,an sometimes it can be headgasket . what u need to do is a compression check on all cylinders to compare to rest of them & do a leak down test on each cylinder only if the compression test are all the same psi. on all cylinders if u do this you will find the cause of the miss fire .

depends on type of radio. press TP and RDS buttons together and hold until display shows 1000. press channel 1 button repeatedly until the first number of the code is displayed. use button 2 for 2nd number, 3 for 3rd 4 for 4th. when full code is displayed press TP and RDS together and hold until radio comes on or says safe. radio should then work.

1999 A8 Audi
Every 60,000 miles. Change the timing belt, accessory serpentine belt, hydraulic timing tensioner, tensioner and idler rollers, tensioner relay arm, water pump, thermostat, and coolant. A dealer will charge you $1100 or more, and an independent European specialist probably $650-750. If you're in range of the southern tier of NY, I can do it for you (I specialize in Audi and VW). Order your parts online and I'll do the work for $250 in labor.
