If you are talking about the odometer display does not show numbers, here is a detailed instructions on where to find the cold solder joints at :
http://www.f150online.com/forums/electrical-systems/373597-intermittent-odometer-repair.html

This is if the cluster lighting still works, but the display is blank. Don't know if you mean the gauges in the cluster do not work.

Where is the fuse box panel located in the 2004 ford f 150 xlt 4.6

The owners manual has a poor location description; right side of instrument panel. Instrument panel is what the majority of the world calls the dash. If you read the location description for the fuel inertia location in the owners manual, it has a better description, and the fuse panel and fuel inertia switch are next to each other.
On the new body style truck ( 04-08 MY ) it is located behind a trim panel on the passenger side kick panel. There is a finger groove towards the front on the panel, to open the trim panel like a door ( hinge is the A pillar ) Pull the panel in an arc towards the back of the truck to remove, and behind this is the primary fuse panel for the truck, behind a cover.
There is another smaller fuse panel on the driver's side fender under the hood. This is for the DRLs, 4X4 relays and the AC diode.

your thumb above the PULL tab as

shown in the illustration, then pull

the cover off.

To reinstall the fuse box cover, place the top part of the cover on the
